Glass objects - a seemingly floating
painting
Painting on glass or behind glass - glass
objects or space paintings - I understand as an extension to my two-dimensional
painting.
The flat plane rises to a sculptural
representation.
The neutral carrier glass supports the
lightness and makes the work seem to float.
Usually there are at least 2-3 panes
placed in front of each other, which, in the effect of doubling/multiplying
forms and colours, cause irritation and thus reveal their own language of
kinetics.
Tension is created for the eye. Through
one's own movement, changing the position in front of the object, new
"pictures" can be discovered again and again.
... optical essence of
works on paper - works on glass - works on
glass - works on paper
The use of colour supports a certain
expression, as does the type of colour. Watercolour, for example, lends a
special transparency and luminosity.
"... in all works the pictorial
structure is legible and is subject to the view and the changing perception of
the viewer."
Notes on the explanation of the work:
The 5-part installation is composed of 3
glass panes per work. However, these will be completed as object stelae
(completion for the exhibition), which means - the painted glass panes will be
joined together at the top, bottom and each side with transparent glass as a
closed work.
The size is one work.
