Paloma’s expansion of sculpture and its hybridisation with other artistic disciplines not only manages to endow space with its own will, but also to question and claim how the body, in all its multiplicity, transforms architectural environments and geographies.
The textile is also very present in her main piece, Maniobra de soporte: el peso de la herida [Manoeuvre support: the weight of the wound], a monumental installation based on strips of raffia, which build and deconstruct its nature as a garment to become an element of suture. Its condition of both body covering and surgical material is evident in this work.
