I am living in Sicily since 2010 and the Greek history gets closer and closer to me.
Chained to a rock, up above an abyss of the Carpathian, Prometheus had to persevere, and every day the eagle named Aethon eats of his liver, which was renewing again and again to his torment. He was an immortal, so his suffer should last for many centuries until the hero Heracles, filled with compassion, redeemed him. Prometheus is comparable to Lucifer among Christians.
The goal was to get the impossible. The finished sculpture has almost the same dimensions as the origin block. However it has only half of the weight, which is the limit for this type of stone.
