This vase is a link between past and present, tradition and modernity, France and Japan, rurality and urban life. It’s an object from the past of the French countryside that got painted in a “street art”style, and restored according to traditional Japanese Kintsugi technique. Its painting carries thesigns of time, but its missing handle was rebuilt and lacquered in a bright flashy gold.Contemporary and so occidentally “Wabi-sabi”.
