“L’origine du Monde by Courbet, by Heggno” is my personal view of one of the most iconic and shocking works in the history of art. I decided to completely revisit the original subject by contrasting the realism of Courbet's work with a minimalism so deep that is becomes abstraction. Losing the erotic nuance, my work turns more raw and purely sexual, almost vulgar. The reference to sex increases but, at the same time, takes on a more psychological and existentialist shade. The big black hole, in the center, reflects on the darkness, on the emptiness, from which every human comes, and to which every human will return. So birth and life are nothing more than a short break from the nothing we belong.
