Amazons in greek mythology were tough warrior women said to have one of their breasts removed for it not to be in the way while using the bow.
The concept for this work, as suggested by the title, is based on interaction. The viewer is invited to complete the amazon by projecting the shadow of her features on the wall. The position suggested for the hand may or may not implicitly refer to the size of a penis.
It is a reflection on gender identity.
By completing the image in their own mind, playing an active role in the realization of the artwork, the viewer becomes part of the artistic process and can better relate to it. Interaction of some sort is something I often try to achieve in my work.
