Inferno
Hell
Inferno
"Inferno" is a sound sculpture representing Dante's circles.
The idea is to represent the sounds of hell as if they were engraved on metal discs.
Each record is stimulated by a phonographic stylus, which emits a sound according to the surface it encounters.
Unlike classic vinyl records, the chosen material emits screeching and scratchy sounds with different tones and timbres depending on the size.
the result of the superimposition of these sounds causes considerable discomfort in the human ear.
The sound resembles the sound of machines, the hell of factories, the alienation and the repetition in the industrialized world.
the goal is to impress in the mind of the observer and listener, the pain and suffering imagined by Dante and transport them to the contemporary world in which we live
