I was born in the era of family planning in China from 1985 to 2000. I felt unique when I was young, but when I grew up and entered a wider society, I found that even if I was wrapped in expensive clothes, I was just a fast-moving consumer product of the times. Although we seem to be unique, we always have a sense of loneliness in our subconscious.
For this work, I used cans with blue and white porcelain patterns and painted them. The baby is a clay sculpture and polished to simulate the feeling of porcelain.
Key points: Blue and white porcelain represents expensiveness and uniqueness
Cans represent cheapness and fast consumption
Babies are lonely and contradictory us in this independent era
