A crossed research structured as an itinerant theatrical performance pièce with a solid historical, artistic ad cultural documentation, where you can find references to African traditions and several types of ethnic masks, but also Jung theories about unconscius and its symbols, studies aimed at dancers and actors’ movements by Oskar Shlemmer, about Sonia Biacchi’s scenographic costumes and their symbology and an accurate investigation based on the book “Un’estetica del simbolo tra arte e alchimia, Duchamp l’invisibile” by Maurizio Calvesi.
The concept of the project is very attentive on reveal, with a personal interpretation, the misterious secret inside the sentences of Marcel Duchamps’s work “Anémic Cinéma”, defined “non sens”, developing so a complete research for a ballet with scenographic costume which telling us a story trought the “forced” movents, due to the costumes, a story about the recipe for the creation of the Philosopher’s Stone.
The purpose is to lead on the contemporary a message to give a new critical significance towards theatre and performance, that hasn’t been lost through time and can provide at the viewer a personal emotional experience.
The 10 sentences of Marcel Duchamp’s Anémic Cinéma are:

The elements I want to candidate for this Call are:
10 figurines realized with colored pencils.
10 illustrations/digital collages, made with a reference picture and used for the figurines’ creation
1 box which conteins the listed above immages
1 handmade cabinet with wheels which has insde 10 puppets made with fabrics and mixed materials.

10 digital collages made for the figurines.
1 handmade cabinet with wheels, containing 10 puppets made with fabric and other material, which represent the costumes.
1 costume in 1:1 scale, with a photoset and a video for looking the movements of the costume in detail.
8 technical drawings with the explanation of the theatrical part, with a manual movable curtain, a fixed installation of the manual carousel and the technical drawings that summed the movements of the actors on stage.
The project has 10 soundtracks for every costumes (realized with the collaboration of a composer, without copyright if related to the project)
