OTTONE BRUNITO SU TELA
THE HEART OF NATURE
For Arturo Martini the
vegetable nature could not constitute a work of art in its own right, only if
the form had evoked parts of the animal nature. A bronze knop will be just a
mere ornament. While a bronze banana could constitute a work of art. The vegetables
nature did not match the sculpture. Therefore, unlike Fontana's canvases that
reach the third dimension through the cuts, I go from the third dimension to
the canvas. The work of sculpture that concern the vegetable nature will be
such only after having changed their status, becoming "painting".
Arturo's thesis is affirmed and surpassed here. I borrowed the negative form of
the Roman Cabbage because it is very similar to that of our heart. Moreover,
many of the mathematical proportions found in the heart of nature are eclosed
in the cabbage: section and golden spiral, Fibonacci sequence, the fractals.
