This pieces is not a concept is an object, is reality, it makes you be part of the texture, and also connect with your own HEART. It's a concrete idea. 3D and floating embroidered sculpture.
It’s a 20x15cm heart + the veins sculpture covered with a handmade embroidered patterns.
It’s been a full artistic process, from sculpturing, pattern making to embroidering. For the sculpture a full 3D study of the real shape is done, for the pattern, the sculpture worked as a mannequin, with curves and grooves all around, finally the embroidery.
We really do not pay attention to our hearts unless we have a disease, we think our thoughts move’s us, but in reality the impulse of OUR HEARTS of our DNA, are the metaphysic aspect of our Beings that take us to be as we are or make the decisions that we make. As the definition says: "Metaphysics is the branch of philosophy that studies the nature, structure, components and fundamental principles of reality. This includes the clarification and investigation of some of the fundamental notions with which we understand the world, as an entity, being, existence, object, property, relationship, causality, time and space.” And the heart has all this notions, a priory just because it exist, and according to Immanuel Kant, "metaphysical statements are synthetic judgments a priori” as I said in our DNA, "which in principle escape any sensitive experience” not modified by the experience, works by instance by impulse, we can’t control it.
I used Tambour Beading with the hook, some areas from top(Indian way), and some from underneath(French way). Vermicelli stitches all around.
I already had all the materials, beads sequins, crystals, fabrics, I cut some sequins from a pice of fake leather to create a viscous effect. 3 colors with many shades are used, an important part is the transition between the red and black that I had to create degraded to show the groove. Red and blue materials are used for the Pulmonary and Aorta arteries.
I also created a system to be able to hang it so it seems more real since our hearts are floating inside us, like an embroidery with out a base.
