Hors Cadre is a one of a kind wood sculpture, that shows a bird flying through a frame. There is a strong contrast of colors and of shapes, that empoweres the feeling of movement.
The frame, that is very rigid and dark, can be seen as a symbol of the society, with its rules and traditions (etc), and overall, everything that can become a prison for us (our own rules). Then, the white "bird" can be seen as a symbol of liberty, and shows that the way through the frame is he only way to get free...
The sculpture was made without preparative drawing. It hasn't been made from an idea, but with the wood and the tools, "in action". While making it, the artist didn't know where he was going. He knew the meaning of this artwork after it was finished. It's how great things are made.
