“Hopeful” is an art installation created from chains of colored materials, from paper to fabric, which fall from the sky like waterfalls, creating movement as they reach the ground, like paint dripping.
These chains are made of 1670 strips of paper and have been sent in together to create playful cascades of colors.
The concept behind the piece is that as a united society we can achieve more than as individuals. Each strip of paper represents a person, like you and me. Each one is unique and diverse in its own way. The way in which one strip supports the next is the same in which people support each other, in friendship, collaborative work, sisterhood, etc.
This is how this piece was born, it is a homage to all the people who have been opening spaces so that today, at the end of the chain, we can find ourselves, opening spaces for the people who will come after us.
