I am curled up on myself, needing to reflect, think and rest. In being I get in touch with myself and feel part of the whole. I restore myself and am ready to open up and face what is to come with a new energy.
The work "Highly Sensitive Person" represents what happens when there is a great sensitivity that has not been able to express itself, forced into a shell, is wrapped in on itself, made by a cellular network and forced into the same net that can give a sense of protection.
I love the lightness, the agility, the fluidity, the softness, the flexibility, these feelings are of particular interest to me, and I am interested in how women and Eastern disciplines like yoga manage to represent them often in a timely way. It all expresses a great sense of strength, the same strength there is in bending to the extreme and not breaking, the strength of accumulating, resisting, taking energy from the outside world and then using it at the right time.
The plastic material I am working with allows me to best represent this extreme need for lightness, which at the same time is linked to a high resistance to breakage, great ductility and flexibility.
The sculptures are extremely light, but at the same time resistant, I have been working a lot on that theme trying to take it to the extreme, to the limit possible.
