After having collected pre-Columbian ceramic fragments on the beaches of Ecuador for more than 20 years, I decided to assemble them in a water-soluble artisanal way, with a sticky solution (rice paper, white glue and sand). The sculptures are ephemeral so as not to undermine the heritage character of the pieces. In this series I put into debate the lack of interest of the state in the protection and investigation of ancestral cultures. Also, I make a contemporary interpretation of the millenarian culture. "The Grumpy Alebrije" represents the extinct animals in the Amazon jungle due to the rampant mining and oil exploitation.
