This is a Deco-style piece symbolizing two meanings of love. Conceptually, the sculpture is a statement about love for the breed and it shows the Greyhound's understanding of love as well. Just as a Bronze goes through several steps, so do my sculptures. The first step is clay, and I normally build in porcelain clay because I love the feel of it as I'm thinking about the concept. Next comes the mold, and my patience is always tested at that stage. I'm waiting for the big moment, when I can make the casting and bring it to life. I painted this entry personally for the competition and signed and dated it for you. The casting is made of stone paste and I use acrylic paints and pastels to get the effects. It is protected with a heavy coating of lacquer to magnify the colors.
