For thousands of years of human history, people believed in the great goddess, until the advent of monotheistic religions, which worshipped a male god. Around 3500 BC, the old belief in the Great Goddess in all her diversity (also known as the Goddess of a Thousand Names) was banished and is still ostracized as a witch religion today. Women who worship femininity and the power of creation are defamed and insulted as evil. Islamic cultures in particular show an abysmal hatred of everything feminine. Women are veiled beyond recognition, beaten, abused and killed. With this sculpture, I want to set an example and remind people of the old matrixlinear cultures in which everything feminine was revered and respect for life was a matter of course.
