The work is part of the Frying cycle in which plastic waste such as masks, plastic bottles and mobile phones are breaded with egg, flour and bread, and then fried in oil. The technique creates three-dimensional, textured surfaces, while the concept addresses the ecological problem of plastic and the waste of the consumer society. In a world where synthetic materials are prevailing over natural ones, it is likely that man too will have to adapt to new forms of food, perhaps even metabolising his own waste. The installation represents a green meadow in which the flowers are fried masks and the rain is represented by fried plastic bottles. The population explosion will mean that we will run out of food and be forced to eat synthetic products.
