AK-47 (Kalashnikov's Automatic Rifle) is one of the most popular and widely used rifles in the world. More than 19 countries produce and sell it, more then 50 countries use it in armed forces. This is scared, large-scale “Friendship of nations” that has unfolded in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe and the United States, resulting in the sale of weapons to each other and exchange of bullets.
The sculpture appeals to important soviet fountain “Friendship of nations” and becomes an attempt to transform the main military symbol to attraction where riffles are melted, helpless and soft objects. The artist literally melts the weapon, bends with her hands still warm muzzles of riffles and pistols, thereby disarming them. So fears lose their strength, masculinity and aggression turn into lethargy, and the sounds of shots turn into a peaceful murmur of water.
