This photo installation consists of a mandala made of
legumes and photos on the bottom with a diameter of about 1 m and 10
photos attached to nylon strings hanging from an umbrella frame like a
mobile.
The work was created in the Slow Food year of legumes. Legumes may be a major food source for people in the future. Therefore I want to draw attention to these powerful seeds in a poetic way.
The fairy tale "Fortune
Beans" can be read on a scroll and, if possible, beans are available in a
bowl to take away.
Fortune
beans
Once upon a time there was a farmer who put a
handful of beans in his left pocket every morning. Whenever he had
experienced something beautiful during the day, when something gave him
joy or when he had felt a moment of happiness, he would take a bean from
his left pocket and put it in the right one.
In the beginning
it didn't happen that often. But from day to day there were more beans
that migrated from the left to the right pocket. The scent of the fresh
morning air, the singing of the blackbird on the roof ridge, the
laughter of his children, the nice conversation with a neighbor - a bean
always went from the left to the right pocket.
Before going to
bed that evening, he counted the fortune beans in his right pocket.
With every bean he could remember the positive experience. Satisfied and
happy, he fell asleep - even if he only had a single bean in his right
pocket.
