The inspiration for the series is the beauty of the simple things we can observe during moments of slowing down. Our human existence evolves and develops at an accelerated pace, and our lives are becoming increasingly busier and noisier. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the last few years have provided me with the opportunity to observe what comes in the foreground when speed isn't the main driver anymore. What are we able to pay attention to when the noise quiets down? What shapes do we naturally gravitate towards when we slow down? The artworks in this series are abstract compositions inspired by objects such as a leaf, a flower or a cloud - the kind of things one might be inclined to observe during a walk outside. While these are simple concepts of beauty that surround us, it is these that we notice and look at the least in our day to day life.
