Figgot Tree!, the tree-like sculpture, expands the potential for reality, identity, and hybridity. This work anthropomorphizes the form utilizing culturally understood elements of queer or gay expression. Examples of these include the right ear piercing and the phallocentric symbol of the banana, rendered as a photographic sculpture atop the Home Depot bucket. This tree takes on the role of performer, imitating the performative nature of gender, tropes of masculinity, and sexuality.
