“feminitiv” is a proface projection mapping installation by Michael Bachhofer, Karin Watabe-Wolfger and Karl
Wratschko initiated by the Klanglicht curator Birgit Lill due to the current
increase in violence against women in Austria. By means of projection mapping onto the statue of the goddess
Diana, who is also the patron saint of women and girls, and onto a 3D printed
mask of Diana, the topic is processed using film quotes. The visitors immerse
themselves in an unfortunately too frequent and everyday situations of violence
against women and can reflect on them. 22 red pairs,
symbolizing the femicides perpetrated this year in Austria, stand around like
grave lights in a cemetery between the two video installations. A somewhat crazy
goddess loosens up the serious situation and intervenes. She calls on people to
actively overthrow patriarchy and initiate a change in society.
At the Arte Laguna it is planned to exhibit the projection
mapping of the goddess Diana on the 3D printed mask because there is not
statute of her in Venice. If we also exhibit the red shoes size would be 5x5m or bigger but persons can step inside the isntallation and walk withn the area of the shoes.
The text teh goddess says would be subtitled but we also plan an english version with another actress.
