GLORIFICATION-WOMAN,POVER,the CHANGE, I began working on the motifs and pictures in 2015, 2016 and 2017, and completed them as an installation in 2023. The installation consists of two parts: a hanging picture measuring 300×330cm, made up of four parts, and a walk-in picture measuring 330×230cm.
With the walk-in picture, I aim to create direct contact between the body, image and spirit. For me, it’s not just about visual observation, but about achieving a complete emotional state. The picture is used throughout life, from birth to death.
To document the feelings of individual observers, there is a small table with a book on it. This creates a documentation of the feelings that remain after death.
The woman is in the middle; she relies on her gut feeling while the man is on top, rational. The middle is the most important. In meditation, the goal is to reach the centre, to reach the feminine. There is femininity in every man; he just has to allow it and discover it within himself. It has always been a conflict between women and men. It is finally time to untie this entrenched knot, end this conflict and accept each other as equals.
There are four main motifs or works: “The Pictures Hanging” as four pictures - “Popeess”, “How Much Does It Cost”, “Crucifixion Positive” and “Crucifixion Negative”."
The artwork “Pope in 2038” features a black woman’s hands protruding from the breasts, symbolizing racial equality. The fiery red dress cut cassock represents the relationship between women and the Catholic Church, which began in the time of Mary Magdalene.
“New Supper” symbolises a time of change and openness for gender equality in the church. It is worth mentioning that theologians have researched how men in biblical texts have been carefully changed according to patriarchal thought. Martin Luther mistakenly added S and Ms to Junia’s name in the Bible translation, creating the apostle Junias.
“Crucifixion Positive” and “Crucifixion Negative” depict a female priestess who is condemned to death. She carries the entire history of women with pride and strength. The gray stripe at the bottom of the images shows the biblical route map. The reclining picture features female motifs in unconventional social roles.
