Eternità e Possesso

"Eternità e possesso" is a motion installation where a miniature model train has been equipped with an audio system consisting of loudspeakers and an Mp3 player.The train runs on an infinity-shaped track, spreading the message "eternità e possesso".The artwork stresses and underlines two of the strongest and powerful human instincts, the desire to live forever and the craving for possession.As a traditional and archetypical children's game, the train has been here customized with a paradisiac white colour in order to freeze the action in a sort of never-ending loop.Research aims at highlighting "eternità e possesso" desires, almost turning them into a verdict on our historical moment, where a distorted sense of possession is shown by our incessantly demanding claims for eternity.The artists consider this work as a first artwork step for a bigger project, which is already under development to be enriched and evolved toward new directions.
