Dissected Piëta, Kingdom and Betrayal, blending Cultures is about questioning the meaning behind a loaded icon, about an ongoing conversation between Judeo and Christian tradition.
It is an homage to Judeo tradition told through a very loaded icon from Cristian Iconography and the boundaries between them.
Description of the installation:
Two tied up, crossed, amputated hands lean on a fallen, collapsed hourglass (sand glass).
A stream of what suggests ablack fluid (made of human hair) erupts from the immobilized hands, the hands of the Victim and at the same time the hands of the Murderer.
The bow ties entwined in the hairlocks are in fact fallen over hourglass.
The choice of the yellow color has a very significant purpose which is to embody the installation with duality of meaning.
Yellow: the color of sunshine, it is associated with joy, intellect, withe the Emperor.
Yellow: since the middleages through 2nd Warld War, associated with cowardic, sickness, decay and withe the OUTCAST!
