This piece launched an exploration of shapes, now consisting of a dozen pentagonal and hexagonal objects, all created from the squared bottles commonly used for olive oil. Using the Tiffany-style stained glass technique, I am able to combine function and form, the seams being used for both function and design. While stained glass is generally a technique used in two dimensions, in this piece, I stretch the possibilities of the technique to preserve the three dimensionality of the bottles, creating a completely new approach to what stained glass can be.
