The installation consists of 5 portraits, each divided into 2-3 circles, connected by threads. The threads represent a glitch, an error, linking different parts of the human personality. The portraits can be displayed as a series of separate works on pedestals or gathered together, hanging in a circle to form a single column.
Concept of the Series "PROXIMITY"
In the past few years, people have become numbers—Covid cases, refugees, war victims, the unemployed—all turned into statistics. Individual lives seem to have lost their importance, becoming mere percentages. For this series, I chose AI-generated models because they best represent the image of a "digitized" human in our data-driven world.
While studying dystopian books like "1984," "Brave New World," "We," "Fahrenheit 451," I noticed that human error shows our humanity in these soulless systems. I used digital glitches in my paintings but depicted them through tactile embroidery to highlight this human touch.
