The research, materials and making of Circular Library are a study of the activity and realities not considered or evaluated in the measure of Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Many global themes that thread through societies are not represented in this economic measure; wellbeing, unpaid care work, economic inequality and environmental stability.
It explores how we apply knowledge and considers the possibility of new approaches. To reflect this, the artworks can transition from linear to more organic circular forms. They are sewn by hand and made from; plastics not recyclable domestically in the UK, cast off book-making materials and loose threads.
