This sculpture forms part of the serie L'opression
She's a woman decapitated and amputated of all four limbs, a woman, therefore, incapable of thinking and acting. A giant, black uterus covers it almost entirely to notice that the only function of the woman is that of procreation. This statue is a criticism of the abuse, contempt and discrimination of men towards women throughout history and until today in too many countries.
The title is the corollary of "cherche la femme" by Alexandre Dumas père who quoted him in his novel Les Mohicans de Paris (1854). The expression corresponds to a cliché of the detective novel: whatever the problem, a woman is often the cause. It is therefore obvious to exclaim in front of a woman amputated of all four limbs, beheaded and whose only role is to procreate "look for the man".
