Bunny's Golden Instrument

This intimate sculpture is a homage to our deceased cat, Bunny. The bamboo structure, somewhere between a xylophone and a gamelan, is the framework for a series of strings. The strings are made from Bunny's original cat collar with attached bells. The purpose of a cat collar is to warn birds that a cat is approaching. In Australia domestic cats are a threat to native birds. However, as well as being a warning to birds, the bells tinkled like an instrument as Bunny went about her cat activities.
