My group and I are artists from the Middle East, an area of the world that has been involved in many different wars for years, and many people have died daily because of war, diseases and hunger. The reason I presented this project was to show something that has concerned me and occupied my mind as an artist.
I myself was born during Iran and Iraq war, and I myself am a war child and have suffered the war and its consequences.
We have seen the consequences and effects up close.
Therefore, we decided to address this issue in this project.
………………………………………………………………………………………………………
Wars have caused irreparable damage all over the world and throughout history.
Psychological, financial, economic, cultural and social losses have been inflicted on various nations during and after the war.
Unfortunately, in all wars, historical monuments have always been damaged and destroyed, and these destructions have been recorded in history.
Very beautiful buildings that were built by human ancestors on earth that have a long life and have many stories but have been destroyed during various wars
The Middle East has a history of several thousand years and an ancient civilization.
Unique works in this region have been made during different years and historical periods, works that are several thousand years old.
Many wars have taken place in this region and many ancient monuments and monuments have been destroyed in these wars.
We build a wall with glass pieces (Plexiglass)
This wall symbolizes the buildings destroyed in the war.
The colored pieces are placed next to each other to form a larger volume.
We put a hammer next to this colored wall.
And we hang this text next to the wall:
(This is a work of art. Do you want to destroy it with this hammer?)
In this way, the audience is also challenged in completing the project.
