A Thanksgiving Prayer is a gallery installation where participants are confronted with a semantic exploration that encompasses America’s relationship with Native Nations and interpretations of symbolic erasure and appropriation. Is an attempt to bring light to the ways in which settler colonial memory is ubiquitous and invisible and how it relates to American values of expansion and progress.
Using a variety of mediums that serve as platforms for the exploration of these forces in relationship to Indigenous Identity, I elaborate a linear composition that combines different temporalities at play in the construction of colonial power.
