At 157cm tall, I am a very petite woman compared to most people. I was teased and joked about while I was growing up , especially by the taller boys. For this piece, I made barbed wire with my hair and hung it across at the height of 157cm, so that anyone taller than that would have to bow down to get through. By referring to the highest point of my body - my long black hair - which is often identified as a female trait and transforming it into barbed wire I wanted to draw out the invisible violence within a patriarchal society by reversing its rules and standards.
