This wall sculpture was made in 2020. During the quarantine, I walked a lot in the forest. I observed what are usually called parasites, such as mushrooms on the trunks of dead birch trees. When we are acutely aware of the dangers posed by various forms of life: bacteria, viruses, parasites, it can be frightening and shocking. As in 2020 when human faced up to new virus. But in general, these forms are something that exist in the world, just like a human exist. And it is not negative in an absolute sense. Perhaps, realizing that both we and viruses or parasites are indivisible nature, after a while we will smile: there is still nowhere to run. Relaxed coexistence with the inevitable with the penetrant at first seems frightening, but then more and more strange, even funny. Although is not pleasurable in the usual sense. But inside the horror, we can find joy. A joy that will not contradict the horror.
