01/09/01 is an abstract, geometrical piece featuring “planes” crossed by a “line” that stretches outside the perimeter of the work and creates a distinctive sense of dynamic movement through space. The strong industrial overtones are emphasized by the repeatable nature of the structures, which are formed by metal boxes (the planes) and a square steel tube (the line). They are assembled in accordance with the artists’ working plans, with the aim of bringing out the best of the finely balanced proportions and simple colours. The narrative is associated with the piece named 01/03/01 and it revolves around the complex changes brought about by simple variations in perception (colour and rotation): it is a metaphor for the world today, where the individual outlooks of billions of people come together on universal platforms that stem from the same technology drawn upon by i/f.
