The image is result of an alternative photo process that is also considered a non-traditional printmaking process*. My art investigation is very experimental and aims at finding unusual type of expression keeping understatement and subtleties as the constant keys to interpret and perceive (and create) my work. The title of this piece is some sort of ode to a missing exhibit happened in Milan, Italy, in Fall 2020, hosted by the Prada Foundation. Due to Covid reasons I could not attend this show and so I started to imagine what Kafka and Welles could look together, being an enthusiast of both and behind and integrating my former idea and experiment of developing an image with salt/ via a xerox digital transfer with wintergreen oil. (*) The crystals on the man's face are salt crystals and are physically part of the image I curated with water and salt for days after the wintergreen xerox transfer. The word 'Salt of the Earth'' is a saying that refers to honesty and we live in a very fake world where most wear masks that eventually become the person.
