Photographing
trees is a way of connecting art with the natural environment. Trees represented
an important cultural, natural and religious symbol throughout the human history.
They are organisms that, with their way of existance, completely oppose the modern
human way of life.
I could describe this photograph with the words
of the novelist Hermann Hesse: “I revere trees when they live in tribes and
families, in forests and groves. And even more I revere them when they stand
alone. They are like lonely persons.'' Sometimes I have a feeling that trees – which I consider as
fascinating living beings – affect us with a kind of invisible aural forces.
That's why I wanted to emphasize such a feeling with the post-production
intervention.
