Under the working title TRANSFORMATION, works have repeatedly been produced in recent
years that place the ambivalent relationship, the prejudices, resentments and the mutual mistrust
between people of different skin color, religion, culture and origin in the focus of artistic debate. Parallel to this, the working cycle CANNIBALS was born, in which I search for an artistic form of expression as a symbol for the inhuman appropriation of ideologies, religions, values and economic systems in our time. The mask of the cannibal as a fetish for the strength and power of the white man-culture and external sign of the appropriation by transformation.
The present image TRANSFORMATION II is based on an analogue photo, which I have taken as
part of the conceptual art project UNWANTED by a refugee in Marocco. The face of the refugee is
covered by a mask, which is based on the acrylic drawing CANNIBALS. The montage of both
images took place digitally on the computer in 2019.
I offer the work as a signed digital FINE ART PRINT. Paper size up to 40 x 60. On special request formats up to 90 x 120 are also possible. For Sale.
