When I look back at my work, I notice that there are many photographs of people. "Why are there so many photos of people?" After thinking about it, the theme was "human existence." I realized that I was interested in "the existence of people", so I created [trace] because I wanted to touch on the inner thoughts of "people" and their "memories". In this work, the person's belongings that he or she usually uses are photographed in a state where the traces are exposed under the police's forensic guidelines, and by collecting them with a special powder, the traces emit light in the dark. Traces reveal the existence of the owner, and conversely, the traces of the owner reveal the identity of the property. I felt as if "people" and "things" complemented each other's existence. Traces remain in events that people are involved in, and I continue my production activities while considering that those traces may be tools to prove the existence of others, including the person himself.
