The Shortest Distance between two Points

In wormhole theory, it is hypothesized that an object can be sent from A to B by bending space until two points touch. Thanks to the internet and its social media platforms, physical distance as an obstacle for communication is all but removed.  We can't use the internet to travel between places but we can be constantly connected to others and be omnipresent in the non-space of data and networks. When the space between each other is reduced to zero, what happens to our sense of self.
