Through performative practice the artist moves away from the dichotomous juxtaposition of human and nature, which is especially evident in the metropolis.
The interaction is based on the process of obtaining images: on a moonlit night, paper
with a photosensitive layer is immersed in a river and illuminated by the light of the moon. There are no a camera, optics, devices – only natural forces.
Direct contact of the photoemulsion with streams of river water, funnels, pieces
of ice, parts of coastal plants allows you to accurately visualize the physical and chemical properties of the structure that escapes the human eye. These images are evidences and phenomenon of water as hyperobject, that we cannot observe in full and what do we depend on.
On the river images, you can see waves and lines similar to spectrograms. The artist translates them into sound based on the spectral analysis of the image density and creates them based on the reproduction of spectrograms sound space. Thus, the voice becomes another dimension of the water.
The project consists of full documentation of interactions with Moscow-river by the 4 series, according to the seasons.
