I attempt to explore the conflict between traditional culture and modern society through the dynamic process of how Confucius, as a cultural symbol, has been continuously reshaped and reconstructed throughout history. Confucius has long been honored in Chinese history as the "Great Sage and Teacher for All Ages," and as a cultural icon, he has been imbued with different meanings across various eras. In contemporary Chinese society, before the high school and college entrance exams, his statues are often covered with blessing cards and surrounded by offerings. I aim to reveal how this conflict manifests in the shallow understanding and commercial exploitation of traditional cultural symbols, as well as the contradictions between spiritual beliefs and practical needs. The constant simplification and reshaping of Confucius' image across different times reflect society's utilitarian approach to culture. Through this staged and exaggerated depiction, I hope viewers will reflect on the current education system, the commercialization of culture, and the conflict between faith and reality, prompting a re-examination of the true value of traditional culture and the essence of belief.
