Styled after the Renaissance era painting, “The Birth of Venus”, by Sandro Botticelli, this photograph is a reinterpretation of femininity and divinity through a queer, Afro-Futurist lens. This image is a continuation of a collaborative photographic project that aims to portray and understand the relation of queer subjects and subjects of color to the concept of the divine. The image is an inkjet print made from a digital scan of medium format film.
