Thalia was one of the three Charites or Graces, the goddesses of charm, beauty, nature, human creativity, and fertility. Thalia specifically embodied the grace of blooming and youthful beauty. She represented the brilliant flowering of plants and the vibrant bloom of youth. Her name means "the flourishing one" in Greek. Thalia's particular domain included the blossoming of nature in springtime and the lush greenery found in fertile gardens.
Thalia and her sisters also attended the other major gods on Mount Olympus, adorning the immortals with garlands and beautiful things.
Here Thalia is adorning the feared Nemean Lion that battled Heracles.
