To those, who had to leave
To those, who are still on the way,
to those, who did not arrive yet.
With my new workseries NEUE! HEIMAT! BILDER! I dare for the second time
after “Beyond fotografy” to go beyond pure photography .
In doing so, I consciously interpret the concept of "Heimat" very broadly, the German word is not translatable in other languages. But is it because of this, other people have no "Heimat", no Images, no concepts or feelings, that incorporate the word?
There are many "Heimaten".
And many, who are about to lose it. I dedicate these pictures to those people, too.
Based on our common sujets mountain and nature, I extend the classic concept of "Heimatbild", including the roaring stag, mountain or nature stillife, with other motives:
urban situations, roadsides and architectural landscapes, often shot out of the train or car.
The sometimes blurring result is intented and forms the first level of abstraction, standing for movement.
Digital processing and manual over- and repainting round up the finishing process.
Daily routes and routines form our concept of feeling at home somewhere (that actually describes best the word "Heimat"), as well as the familiar sounds, smells and melodies of languages. The pictures, I present, originate from many places, not only my hometown munich or the bavarian landscape. And they have one in common: after at least 3 visits or stays I started feeling at home there for a while.....
