The vices of the first world are the burden of the third. Globalization has moved forward unevenly and no-one can say where this "New Frontier" is leading us. As the myth of progress continues to perpetuate poverty and oppression, the social landscape fractures. Over the past thirty years, we have witnessed the relationship between capital and labor grow estranged, and living standards fall alongside the deindustrialization and the outsourcing of labor overseas to nations with exploitative practices. The violence of globalization and geographically delineated material inequalities are symptoms of a world increasingly reduced to the bottom line.
