SHANGHAI (SERIES III BLUE-VIOLET) "WHERE WE ARE, WHERE WE LIVE"
The original photography of this work titled "Shanghai(series III blue-violet) Where we are, where we live" was done in 2018, in Shanghai, next to the Power Station Museum of Art (it shapes and its tower vaguely appear on the third plan) but its finalization occured mid-2020 after several months of confinement. The blue pattern of the first plan and the black one next to it could be both some kind of maps of China and Shanghai, where I was confined all this time. Where we are, where we live": the pandemic made us think deeper about our territory and about our roots and identity. The metallic grid obtained after a multi-exposure process is emerging as a symbol of the confinement. The grid lets the light passing through - a blue-violet light -, like a glow, perhaps a source of hope ? Art (and artistic creation) continued to live on despite despair and difficulties.
