Portal - is macro photography of triangle shape dewdrop in between grass blades.
The photo has a special meaning for me. I want to tell you why.
I
captured this photo at the moment of big transformations in my life. I was new
in a new country, no language, no relatives, no understanding of what to do, I
just came out from the tight baby-bubble and was completely lost. I have
technical education with a master's degree, but in the new place, nobody really
gets in charge of that diploma. I had to start from zero. I adore art,
photography became my passion, but I didn't understand what to do with this,
who does need it… I was scared and very close to depression.
When I
noticed this triangle shape drop of dew, which like a prism was reflecting the
soft morning sun, I thought that it looked like a portal to another reality.
Looking at it I've understood what a magical meaning has photography to me: it
helps me to see how wonderful our world is and catch its magical moments.
I've
understood, that the only thing that doesn't let me follow my dream is my
fears. And they are not so real but have a big power over me. The aim of these
fears is to keep me inside my well-known reality, protecting me from
uncomfortable changes but maybe they don't mean that my dream is not possible.
I decided for myself that if the fears are based on illusions, so my way out
from these fears can be also based on illusion. And I imagined how I do take a
step into this portal and appear in another reality. The reality, where I
believe in myself, choose myself, where I honestly follow my dreams, and
reality where I let myself do what I enjoy and what I can be really effective
in. And here I am…
I don't
say that to follow the dream is so easy, like make a step and that's it. But I
feel happier moving forward even through the difficulties than standing in a
place trapped by the fears.
Follow
your heart, let your dreams come true! Who if not we are?
