perfect flow
In the photographic work "perfect flow" traces of movement diffuse into the liquid in a wide variety of colours. Macro with layer-technique.
Space Illusion
Experimental Photography by Barbara Goertz
In her latest photographic works Barbara
Goertz creates abstract images on the theme of illusion and perception,
according to the motto: nothing as it
seems. Her works not only aim to challenge the eye and the mind, but also
to explore and question the limits and contradictions of perceptional habits.
Technically Goertz,
whose paintings are characterized by countless layers and breaks, also remains
true to herself in photographic image processing: by means of digital multiple
fading the macro shots lie layer by layer on top of each other, indeed they
seem to interwoven with each other. In this way, she creates abstract spatial
pictorial worlds, whose unusual and sensitive composition fascinates the viewer
and allows him to search for familiar patterns.
In an
experimental photo series, the dissolution process of a drop of ink in water
was meticulously recorded. The bizarre forms of a liquid agreement state inspired
the artist to superimpose them with macros of contrasting solid materials, such
as silk, paper and metal. By means of digital superimposition she creates
abstract images of spatial worlds, in which the bizarre drop seems to move.
